Happy belated Valentine’s Day, Wildcats! This is your favorite lunchroom liaison with an insider “scoopie” on all the Commons happenings!
This past Saturday, Vail Commons went all out for their very own love-struck ‘Cats. It was very exclusive, so don’t feel bad that you didn’t hear about it—and if you did, well, you earn bragging rights. My sources told me that if you were gunning for a table, you had to reserve one during Fall semester, so remember that for next year! And if something unfortunate does come to pass between you and your sweetheart, there is reservation insurance: get your table back with no cost! (In the event that this does occur, the Commons insurance team will run an investigation, and if found to be on solid grounds, then you receive all money back except for the necessary processing fee. If not approved, the full price plus interest will be collected.) Or enjoy the lobster for one, applicably named “Lonely Heart’s Lobster”. You poor thing.
Of course if you and your beau wish to book an unforgettable afternoon (and risk the food poisoning), here is a sneak peek at the menu!
Appetizer
Pan-seared scallops with garlic and lemon with greens
Main Course
Garlic butter broiled lobster tail on a bed of angel hair pasta
Sides
Asparagus + Parmesan smashed potatoes
Sweet Central
Drunken honeyed figs with a lemon mascarpone whipped creme
Quite the undertaking for Commons, but don’t get your heart-print boxers in a twist. They use only the finest ingredients, such as real Maine lobster (flash frozen and stored for months ahead of the big event!) and scallops sourced from our very own Lake Norman. Talk about local!
Positively mouth-watering, eh? Looking forward to seeing you all next year! Until then, this has been your faithful lunchroom liaison.
XOXO,
Your lunch lady <3
